Petar Kapisoda

Petar Kapisoda ( Serbian Cyrillic Петар Каписода; born June 26, 1976 in Cetinje, SFR Yugoslavia) is a sports director of the Montenegrin men's national handball team and a former Montenegrin handball player who has been mostly used on the outside left position.

Sporting career

The 1.88 m wide and 85 kg Right-handed began in his hometown RK Lovćen Cetinje to the handball game. After the first pro season, he moved to RK Crvenka, from where he moved on to another season RK Partizan Belgrade. With Partizan, he won the 1995 Yugoslav Championship. In 1996 he moved just to city rivals RK Red Star Belgrade, with which he again won the title in 1997 and 1998. Then he returned to his hometown club back to Cetinje. There he took 2000 and 2001 more championships and the 2002 Cup victory. In the season 2002/ 03 he was playing for Partizan and won his sixth national title. Then he joined the Bosnian-Herzegovinian club, RK Bosna Sarajevo, with whom he won the 2004 Cup. After two seasons, he signed with the Croatian series winner RK Zagreb, where he won the league and cup in 2006 and 2007.

Then he returned to Sarajevo. There he took in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the Double in 2011 once again the title. At the end of his career he moved to Lausanne for the Swiss third division side West HBC. After the 2012/13 season, he finished his career.

Peter Kapisoda played for the national team of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and its successor, Serbia and Montenegro and Montenegro.

With the Yugoslav selection, he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1999 and 2001. In the 2000 Olympics he finished fourth. With Montenegro, he participated in the 2008 European Championship and reached the 12th place. At the World Championships in 2013, he was only 22, and third from bottom. At the end of his career, he defeated the German team with his team in qualifying for the European Championship in 2014, where he no longer attended.

Professional career

Since November 2013 Kapisoda is sports director of the Montenegrin national team.
