Petar Popangelov

Petar Popangelow ( born January 31, 1959 in Samokov ) is a former Bulgarian ski racer.

Popangelow 1976 and 1977 European Junior Champion in slalom. In the following years won so far the only Bulgarian top ranks in the World Cup. This, he realized, without exception, in the slalom. In this discipline, he was one of the late 1970s to mid -1980s the world's best. In his career Popangelow won a World Cup race, added six second and four third places. The last time he stood on the podium in March 1984 with a second place behind the Austrian Robert Zoller. At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, and four years later at the Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo, he reached the sixth place, respectively. After the 1986/87 season Popangelow ended his career.
