Pete Levin
Peter " Pete " Levin ( born December 20, 1942 in Boston ) is an American jazz and fusion keyboardist ( piano, organ, synthesizer).
Work
Levin was known as a longtime member of the orchestra of Gil Evans, with whom he regularly appeared until the mid- 1980s and recorded several albums recorded, as in 1973 Svengali, 1974 The Gil Evans Orchestra Plays the Music of Jimi Hendrix, 1975 There Comes a Time, 1980 Live at the Public Theatre (New York 1980) and 1985 Live at Sweet Basil. In the 1980s he worked with Jimmy Giuffre of 4 to hear on the album quasar. In 1984 he played in the fusion band by John Scofield, from 1988, in Lew Soloff ( Little Wing, 1991). Levin also worked in a trio with his brother, bassist Tony Levin, and drummer Danny Gottlieb; From 1990, he recorded a number of albums under his own name, especially in the Gramavision label. 2007 Levin joined with Joe Beck, Harvey Sorgen and Ernie Colon in New York's Knitting Factory on.
