Career

Peter Andersson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Örebro HK, for the first team, he was active from 1981 to 1983 in the then still second-class Division 1. Following the 1982/83 season, in which he had 20 points scorer, ten goals in 25 games, he was voted the best junior hockey players in Sweden. In addition, the New York Rangers were aware of him, who selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 1983 in the fourth round as a total of 73 players. In the summer of 1989, Andersson signed a contract with the second division Malmö IF, with whom he rose in the season 1989/90 right off the bat in the Elitserien and two years later even won the championship title. For Sweden, Andersson took at junior level at the Under-18 European Junior Championships in 1982 and 1983, as well as the U20 World Junior Championships in 1983, 1984 and 1985 in part.
