Peter Andreas Blix

Peter Andreas Blix (* November 4, 1831 in Fredriksværn; † January 31, 1901 in Vik ) was a Norwegian architect. Blix dedicated all his life for the preservation and protection of cultural heritage of Norway.

Blix studied at the Polytechnic Hanover ( 1851-1854 ) and at the Polytechnic School of Karlsruhe ( 1854-1855 ). Back in his homeland, he worked from 1856 to 1863 in the Office channel beings. There he was charged with the development of channels. Then he settled in Bergen as a freelance architect. He is considered a pioneer of the so-called Swiss architectural style for hotels and residential buildings. Among other things, he was the architect of the hotel Mundal in Sogndal. He built as many stations. In Bergen he worked mainly on the restoration of Håkon's Hall and the St. Olav. His late work was the restoration of the stave church Hopperstad and the church of Hove. The latter he acquired with private funds and also financed with private money their restoration. His grave is in the church of Hove under the floor.
