Peter Angerer

Peter Angerer (* July 14, 1959 in Hammer, Victory Village, Bavaria ) is a former German biathlete.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1984 he won the individual race over 20 km of one of two gold medals for the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition, he won over the 10 km and a silver medal and brought to the West German biathlon relay bronze.

Just four years earlier in Lake Placid he had taken with the relay bronze. In Calgary in 1988, where he standard bearer of the West German team was at the opening ceremony, followed again silver team.

In between Angerer had won five World Championship medals as well as several World Cup success. He also was the 1983 winner of the overall World Cup biathlon and got a 1984 Bambi. 1986 Angerer was tested positive after the Biathlon World Championships in Oslo on methyltestosterone and locked until 31 January 1987 due to the doping offense.

Today Angerer operates a cross-country school in Ruhpolding.
