Peter Artner

Peter Artner ( born May 20, 1966 in Vienna ) is a retired Austrian football player.

Career as a player

Artner began his professional career with Austria after a Leihjahr in Vienna gave him in 1987 in exchange for Manfred Zsak to the league rivals FC Admira / Wacker. In the southern city he became then the same in his debut season on the national team. After four years at the gray mouse and a UEFA Cup Feeder later, he joined the then Austrian top club SV Austria Salzburg. After the successful three years with league titles, the UEFA Cup final and Champions League collection abroad became aware of the long-haired Austrian. Artner moved to Hércules CF in the Spanish Primera Division. After the unsuccessful season in Spain his way across the Italian second division club U.S. Foggia led back into the home. His last season as a player was 2000/ 01 at FCN St. Pölten in the Austrian First Division.

Artner played 55 times for the Austrian national team as a defensive midfielder and scored a goal.

At the World Cup in Italy in 1990 Artner played twice and looked at the game against Austria, the United States (3rd group game ) the red card.
