Peter Boyle (film editor)

Peter Boyle ( born May 27, 1946 in Formby ) is an English cutter.

Life

He learned his craft in the 70s by John Victor- Smith, when he became assistant editor of the films Richard Lester worked with. In 1976 he worked for the first time for Lester at an American production, The killer lurks in the sauna, with. In 1980, he was with LA Prisoner his debut as a self-responsible Cutter for a movie. He then worked for decades repeatedly both UK and USA productions. The last British film, which he cut, Tristan & Isolde was in 2005, before that it was 1998 Still Crazy. During this period, the film was The Hours - From eternity to eternity, for which he received several awards and nominations, including an Academy Award and BAFTA Award nomination.

After he repeatedly worked early in his career for Richard Lester, there are also other directors with many years of cooperation, including Kevin Reynolds, Jon Amiel, and in recent years also Mikael Håfström.

Boyle is a member of the American Cinema Editors.
