Peter Burge (athlete)

He began his career as a triple jumper and was Australian champion in this discipline in 1993. In 1998 he moved to the long jump and won this season at first gold at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. The following year, he had to pause because of a chronic injury in the groin region. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, he was sixth and at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2001 in fourth. 2000, 2001 and 2003, he was national champion in the long jump. In 2003 he ended his athletic career. Peter Burge is 1,87 m tall and weighed about 80 kg competition times. He started for the Melbourne Track Club.
