Peter Burton
Peter Burton ( born April 4, 1921 in London Borough of Bromley, England; † November 21, 1989 in London) was a British actor.
Career
Burton was the first performer of Major Boothroyd, better known as Q in the James Bond film Dr. No represented. He got the role because he was a close friend of the director Terence Young. Only when Burton was replaced due to a date conflict with From Russia With Love by Desmond Llewelyn, the figure was more attention.
Burton also starred in the Bond spoof Casino Royale (1967) and in the television series The Avengers and melon, The man with the suitcase, UFO, The pros and Simon Templar.
Peter Burton died in 1989 at the age of 68 years.
