Peter Caffrey
Peter Caffrey ( born April 18, 1949 in Dublin, † January 1, 2008 in Shrewsbury, England) was an Irish actor.
Career
Caffrey was mainly known as Padraig O'Kelly in parts 1 to 4 of Ballykissangel. He also had significant roles in Casualty and Peak Practice. In his thirty-year career as an actor, he appeared in nearly 30 television and film roles. After moving to London he became a familiar face on British television. His success came in Ballykissangel, 1992 after he was diagnosed with oral cancer. In 2000 he suffered a stroke from which he never recovered properly. Caffrey died on 1 January 2008 at the age of 58 years in England and was buried in the cemetery Mount Jerome, Dublin.
