Peter Cetera

Peter Paul Cetera (* September 13, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American singer, songwriter and bassist. He became known for the rock band Chicago, which he left in 1985, since then he has enjoyed success as a solo artist.

After Cetera had already gained some experience in the band The Exceptions in the 1960s, he became in 1967 a member of The Big Thing, which later changed its name to Chicago Transit Authority and then in Chicago, with whom he was successful in the following years. In 1985, he got out in favor of a solo career of the band. His first solo single after separating from Chicago, Glory of Love, managed to immediately ranked 1 in the U.S. charts. In the duet with Amy Grant and the song The Next Time I Fall he could repeat this success in the same year.

His song Save Me, 1989 was the theme song of the first season of the U.S. series Baywatch - The Baywatch.
