Peter Douglas Dawson ( born February 4, 1982 in Pinjarra ) is an Australian racing cyclist.

Peter Dawson in 2002 for the first time track cycling world champion in the team pursuit. In 2003 and 2004 he was able to defend that title with the Australian national team; at the 2004 Olympics in Athens he won also with the Australian train four the gold medal. He also won a stage in 2003 at the U23 race Giro delle Regioni. Since 2006, Dawson runs for the Australian Continental team Southaustralia.com. In the Track Cycling World Cup in 2006 in Bordeaux, he was the fourth time World Champion in the Team Pursuit. At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, he was tenth in the individual pursuit and sixth in the points race.

2003 awarded the Western Australian Sports Federation Dawson the ANZ Sports Star Award for the best performance of the year in the Western Australian sport.
