Peter Dempsey

Peter Dempsey ( born March 31, 1986 in Dublin) is an Irish racing driver. He took from 2011 to 2013 in some races in the Indy Lights in part.

Career

Dempsey began his motorsport career in karting in 1995, where he remained active until 2000. In 2004 he moved to Formula racing and was 22nd in the British Formula BMW. In 2005 he joined the Northern Ireland Formula Ford in 1600 and won the championship. In 2006, Dempsey in the British Formula Ford, who won four races and finished the season in third place overall. He also participated in 2005 and 2006 at some Formula Ford single events part. In 2007 he went to only two races in the British Formula Ford. In addition, he participated in several individual events Formula Ford and won four of those events.

2008 Dempsey moved to North America in the Star Mazda Series for Andersen Racing. He chose four out of twelve races for themselves and finished the season behind John Edwards and Joel Miller in third place from. He also took part in two races of the British Formula Ford and F2000 Championship Series. 2009 Dempsey remained in the Star Mazda Series and went for AIM Motorsport at the start. With five wins from thirteen races Dempsey lost his title match against Adam Christoudoulou with 461 to 473 points. 2010 Dempsey was not a cockpit for a full season and he stepped on to a race of the American Le Mans Series as well as Formula Ford single events.

2011 Dempsey joined in the Indy Lights. First, he took part in five events for O2 Racing Technology, then he completed five races for Andretti Autosport. Dempsey finished four races on the podium. A second place was his best result. At the end of the season he was on the tenth overall. 2012 Dempsey was again active as a part-time driver in the Indy Lights. First, he denied two races for Younessi Racing, the end of the season, he completed the last five races for Belardi Auto Racing. With a fourth place as best result he was Gesamtelfter. 2013 Dempsey received a full-time cockpit in the Indy Lights at Belardi Auto Racing. When Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, he won his first Indy Lights race. With a margin of 0.0026 seconds Dempsey turned on so that the record for the closest finish on the track. In three races he finished second. Although he was the best pilot of his team, he lost his cockpit two races left in the season. He drove one of the two last race for Team Moore Racing. Dempsey finished the season in fifth place overall.
