Peter Dodson

Peter Dodson ( born August 20, 1946 in Ross, California) is an American vertebrate paleontologist who deals with dinosaurs.

Dodson studied at the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor 's degree in geology in 1968 from the University of Alberta with a Master 's degree in Geology and Paleontology in 1970 and at Yale University, where he became in 1974 a Ph.D., while at the Peabody Museum, he of Natural History was as an assistant curator. From 1974 he was at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was Assistant Professor of Anatomy in 1975 and later became a professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine.

He erstbeschrieb Suuwassea 2004 Avaceratops 1986. Dodson specializes in ceratopsians and editor of a standard work on dinosaurs. Except in North America, he dug up in Argentina, India, Egypt, Madagascar and China.

He also lectured on geology, history of science, and ( as a devout Christian ) religion.
