Peter Dollond

Peter Dollond ( born February 24, 1731 in London, England; † July 2, 1820 in Kensington, England ) was an English optician.

Biography

Peter Dollond worked with his active also as an optician and astronomer father John Dollond in the improvement of telescopes. He headed the Optical Institute together with his younger brother John († November 6, 1804 ).

Peter Dollond wrote, inter alia, the time of his writing important account of the discovery of refracting telesopes (London, 1789).
