Peter Ebdon

Peter Ebdon ( born August 27, 1970 in London; Nickname: Ebbo ) is an English snooker player.

Career

Ebdon began his professional career in 1991 and soon rose to the top players in the world. In 1997, he achieved his best ever placing as number 3 of the Snooker world rankings.

His greatest achievement was winning the 2002 World Championships with a 18:17 victory in the final against Stephen Hendry.

He stood two more times in the final of the World Cup. In 1996, he lost to Hendry and 2006 against Graeme Dott. Other successes from Ebdons career are the victories at the Rothmans Grand Prix in 1993, the Thailand Open in 1997, the Regal Scottish Open 2001, the British Open in 2002, the Irish Masters in 2004, the UK Championship in 2006 and the China Open in 2009 and 2012.

Twice in his career he was able to achieve ( 147 points ) has a maximum break. The China Open 2012 he also scored in the final his 300th Century -break, which had managed only four players in front of him.

Other Activities

Peter Ebdon is also a pop singer. He has released two singles, " I Am a Clown" (1996, originally performed by David Cassidy ) and "The Fall of Paradise" ( 2002).

Private

Ebdon has four children with his ex- wife Deborah. In 2005 he emigrated with his family to Dubai. After the divorce in 2010 he moved to Budapest, where he now lives with his wife Nora.

Peter Ebdon is colorblind. This enables him to distinguish the brown billiard ball hard to the red. Therefore in confusing situations he asks the referee after the position of the brown ball. Previously it happened several times that he has punched the brown rather than a red ball (or vice versa).

Ebdon is considered cultivated man, next to the Snooker game is considered to be the interest of horse breeding, swimming and fine wines.

Peter Ebdon is a member of the Federation of the Freemasons.
