Peter Gerhardsson

Peter Gerhardsson ( born August 22, 1959) is a former Swedish football player. The striker moved to his active career on the bench.

Career

Playing career at first and second league

Gerhardsson began as a child playing football at Upsala IF, where he then went through the various ages of youth department and ran aground as a teenager in the unterklassig antretenden men's team. Prior to the second division season 1978, he moved to Stockholm club Hammarby IF. First still mainly active in the youth team, he came in 1978 to use one in the first team, which advanced to the Allsvenskan end of the season. Before the season 1982 Bengt Persson took over as coach at Hammarby IF and led the team to Sten -Ove Ramberg, Mats Wahlberg, Thomas Dennerby and Michael Andersson in second regular time behind IFK Gothenburg in the championship finals. There Gerhardsson and Efraimsson recorded as a regular goal scorers, so that the final match was achieved against the league leaders from Gothenburg. In the following season Gerhardsson also showed during the regular season his goal threat and placed with ten goals this season in fourth place behind the scorer scorer Thomas Ahlström and behind the remaining tie Mats Jingblad and Sören Börjesson. In the summer of that year he was with the club in the final of the national cup, which was, however, lost to the reigning champions IFK Göteborg. Directly after his active career Gerhardsson moved to the dugout and took over as coach at his hometown club Upsala IF he oversaw until 1995. He then took over the third division BKV Norrtälje, but with whom he missed the league. His next stop was in Uppland. From 1997 he supervised the An incoming in the Damallsvenskan wife team of Bälinge IF that placed itself under his leadership among the top three teams in the league and in the 1998 failed only in the semi-final on later masterpieces Älvsjö AIK.

After Gerhardsson influenced the fortunes in the second division between 2000 and 2002 as an assistant coach his last game station Enköpings SK, he joined then as a junior coach for Svenska Fotbollförbundet. 2005 brought him Helsingborgs IF as assistant coach Peter Swärdh in the Allsvenskan. Even after his dismissal during the following season he remained the coaching staff by the end of 2008 under the interim solution Hans Eklund and the successors Stuart Baxter and Bo Nilsson.

In November 2008, the Gothenburg club BK Hacken announced the commitment Gerhardssons as the new coach of the Ascended in the Allsvenskan clubs. The team led by Jonas Henriksson, Mathias Ranégie, Tom Söderberg and Christian Källqvist he introduced in his first season as coach with chief responsibility in the Swedish Elite series to fifth place in the table and so missed the European Cup place by only two points.
