Peter Gilmore

Peter Gilmore ( born August 25, 1931 in Leipzig, † February 3, 2013 in London) was a British actor.

Life

Peter Gilmore came at the age of six years to England and then broke up with 14 years of school to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts Theatre until he was expelled. During his short stay in the army he was enthusiastic for singing and then joined the George Mitchell Singers on.

In the 1960s he was a member of the successful "Carry -on- force" in the Carry on ... film comedies.

However, he gained international prominence in the 1970s as a ship owner James Onedin, the central figure in the British television series The Onedin Line.

Already in the years 1958/59 he played a recurring role in the television series Ivanhoe, along with Roger Moore.

Private

Peter Gilmore was in 1987, his third wife, married to Anne Stallybrass. The had in the television series The Onedin Line, in the first season (episodes 1-15) and in the 2 season (episodes 16-29 ), his first wife 'Anne Onedin " played.
