Peter Hadfield

Peter Robert Hadfield ( born January 21, 1955) is a former Australian athlete, who took part in the Olympic Games twice in the decathlon. At the Commonwealth Games he won a silver medal.

In the Commonwealth Games 1978 in Edmonton decathlon on August 7 and 8 took place. Hadfield was charged with 7623 points ( 7561 ) Second, however, was placed 844 points behind the Englishman Daley Thompson. 1980 Hadfield finished at the Olympic Games in Moscow with 7709 points ( 7658 ) the 13th Place. 1982 could Hadfield at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane not build on the success of Edmonton, with 7511 points ( 7446 ), he finished fourth. At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, he reached the 14th place with 7683 points ( 7663 ).

In the Australian state championships won Hadfield 1976-1985 nine times the title, only in the season 1977/78 he did not take part in the championship.

Hadfields competition weight was 87 kg with a height of 1.88 m. After his career Hadfield worked as a television and radio commentator.
