Peter Hänsel

Peter Hansel ( born November 29, 1770 in Leppe ( province of Silesia ), † September 18, 1831 in Vienna ) was a German - Austrian composer and violinist.

Life

After receiving a musical education from his uncle in Warsaw Hansel occurred in 1787 in the orchestra of Prince Grigori Alexandrovich Potemkin in Sankt Petersburg. In 1791 he was concertmaster at the Princess Izabela Lubomirska in Vienna, where he was hired in 1796 with a fixed annual salary. Hansel took lessons with Haydn and traveled for a year in 1802 to Paris.

He created a comprehensive volume: 35 String Quartets, Quintets 4, 3 ​​quartets with flute and clarinet, violin duets 9, further variations, Polonaises, Rondos, marches and the like for various instruments.
