Peter Herman Adler

Peter Herman Adler ( born December 2, 1899 in Jablonec, † October 2, 1990 in Ridgefield, United States) was a born in Bohemia conductor.

He studied music at the Prague Conservatory. From 1929 to 1932 he was music director of the Bremen State Opera from 1932 to 1937 the Ukrainian State Philharmonic in Kiev.

He emigrated to the USA in 1939, where he worked with the New York Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with the ( 1959-1968 ) and the Metropolitan Opera. From September 1973 to 1981 Peter Herman Adler Director of the American Opera Center.

In 1951 he was nominated for the soundtrack to "The Great Caruso " for an Oscar.
