Peter Hitchens

Peter Jonathan Hitchens ( born October 28, 1951 in Sliema ) is a British journalist and author.

Life

Peter Hitchens is the son of a British naval officer. Like his brother, Christopher Hitchens (1949 - 2011), who was also a journalist, he attended a British private school.

In his youth he was like his brother Christopher left radical and member of the International Socialist Party. He studied at the University of York and began his career as a journalist at a local newspaper. In the 1970s, he went to the Daily Express. He was a correspondent for the newspaper in the Soviet Union and the United States. In 2000, he left the newspaper after it had been bought by Richard Desmond. Hitchens is the author of four books and writes a column for the British Mail on Sunday. He is also a frequent guest on political television and radio broadcasts.

By his own testimony, he began in 1981 slowly return to the Christian faith. Today it belongs to the conservative wing of the Church of England and represents conservative morality.
