Peter Hlinka

Peter Hlinka ( born December 5, 1978 in Prešov, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak football player at the position of midfielder. Since the 2012/13 season he plays for SC Wiener Neustadt in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.

Career

Hlinka began his professional career in his native Slovakia at 1 FC Tatran Prešov. There, he played from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, he moved to Austria and got a contract with SK Sturm Graz. Only a year later, he moved already in the Austrian Bundesliga SW Bregenz. 2004 brought him Rapid Wien in his squad. His greatest success with the Viennese here was winning the Austrian Championship 2004 /05 and the entry into the main round of the UEFA Champions League 2005/06.

In May 2007, Hlinka joined the German second division side FC Augsburg. For the 2008/09 season he returned to the Austrian Bundesliga SK Sturm Graz. He signed a contract until 2010. His expiring contract will not extend Sturm Graz with Hlinka. With the end of season 2009/10 Hlinka moves to direct league rivals Austria Wien. After two years with the Purple midfielder moved again within the Austrian Bundesliga. Hlinka signed a contract with SC Wiener Neustadt.

Peter Hlinka completed a total of 28 A- international matches for the Slovak national football team, scoring one goal ( on 8 October 2005 against Estonia 1-0 victory in Bratislava in the World Cup qualifiers ).
