Peter Hogg

Peter Wardell Hogg, CC, QC ( born March 12, 1939 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand ) is a Canadian jurist.

Hogg studied law at the University of New Zealand, where he graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Laws, and at Harvard University, where he earned in 1963 the degree of Master of Laws. In 1970 he became then at Monash University the degree of Ph.D.. Later that year, he went to Canada, where he joined the University of York was appointed professor at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Hogg is known for his in 1977 published book Constitutional Law of Canada, which was published in the meantime 5th edition loose-leaf form as well as abridged student edition. It is the in decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada the most-cited monograph.
