Peter I, Duke of Bourbon

Pierre I de Bourbon ( German: Peter, * 1311, † September 19, 1356 at the battle of Maupertuis ) was since 1341 a Duke of Bourbon. He was a son of Duke Louis I of Bourbon and Marie d' Avesnes.

Pierre fought during the Hundred Years War in 1341 under the command of the Duke John of Normandy and participated in the Breton War of Succession. 1345 he undertook together with King John of Bohemia, Prussia a ride. At the Battle of Crécy in 1346, he was wounded and in 1355 he was appointed Lieutenant General of the King in Gascony. Pierre was seen as wasteful and ostentatious addicted, he fell in 1356 at the battle of Maupertuis.

He married in 1336 Isabella of Valois ( 1313-1383 ), daughter of Charles I of Valois and Mathilde ( Mahaut ) of Châtillon, Countess of Saint-Pol. Their children were:
