Peter Kern
Peter Kern ( born February 13, 1949 in Vienna) is an Austrian actor, film director, film producer and writer for magazines and newspapers.
Life
From a young age had core as the Vienna Boys Choir his first public performances. He attended the College of Education and completed a commercial apprenticeship.
After acting lessons with Polly Kiigler in Vienna, he made his debut as Gluthammer in The Torn at the Burgenland in Eisenstadt stage. From 1968 to 1971 he was with the musical Hair on tour. Then Peter Lilienthal offered him in his TV movie Jacob von Gunten on the first roll of film. For his roles in The Wrong Move (1975) and Flaming Hearts ( 1978 ) Core received respectively the German Film Award ( Film Award ) for Best Male Lead. At the same time a duet with Barbara Valentin appeared the single " When the grain flowers bloom ", the movie Blazing heart. He also played theater in 1985, he directed Eyens women behind bars at Munich boulevard theater. Core played at all major platforms, including Volksbühne Berlin, Freie Volksbühne Berlin, Burgtheater, Vienna, Hamburg Schauspielhaus, TaT Frankfurt, Frankfurt Opera House, the Schauspielhaus Cologne Schauspielhaus Zurich, and more.
In 1978, he founded his film production Luxor and made a name for himself as a documentary filmmaker. In 1983, he staged together with Kurt Raab his first feature film The Island of the Bloody Plantation, the others followed. For his directorial work core got various awards and honorable mentions. Peter Kern was a jury member at several international film festivals.
