Peter Kooy

Peter Kooij ( Peter Kooy, born 1954 in Soest ) is a Dutch singer (baritone ) and a specialist in historical performance practice.

He studied in Holland for a violin studies singing with Max van Egmond. In the Bach cantatas complete recording of Bach Collegium Japan, he contributes regularly. A regular collaboration is also with the Collegium Vocale Gent under Philippe Herreweghe. Today he is a professor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. More than 100 CDs documenting his work.

In 2002 he founded together with Monika Frimmer, Christa Bonhoff and Dante Diwiak a quartet named Tanto Canto, the rare songs a cappella or with piano or ensemble lists. The quartet recorded in 2005 Excerpts of the ear - and mind - vergnügendes ergötzendes panel Confect (also Augsburger Tafel Confect called ) the composer Valentin Rathgeber and Johann Caspar Seyfert on, led by Jürgen Sonnentheil.
