Peter Lenz

Peter James Lenz (born 30 May 1997 Orlando, Florida, United States; † August 29, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States) was an American motorcycle racer.

Career

Lenz began at the age of five years to ride the motorcycle. First, he went on a Yamaha PW50 and shortly thereafter on a KTM Pro Senior 50 to participate in the race. Then he went two years Pocket Bikes, where he remained undefeated in all races of last season.

Then drove Lenz another three years at the Minis, with a variety of motorcycles, among other things, he began to Honda NSR 50, KTM 65 Road racer, Metrakit 50 and 80 and a Honda NSR150R.

At age eleven, Lenz began his career in a 125cc class, where he was previously the youngest driver a professional license from the U.S. Motorcycle Association and received in the first year suffered many accidents and injuries.

In 2010 he competed in 18 races, of which he won five and 14 times placed in the top three.

Peter Lenz won 125 motorcycle races, reaching 35 times more places two or three.

Fatal Accident

On Sunday, August 29, 2010, Lenz joined to the run of USGPRU - MD250H Championship on his Moriwaki MD250H, the motorcycle unit of the championship, at. In the warm-up lap for this race, he crashed on a section in which the asphalt due to the heat of the day was gone soft. The following drivers by Xavier Zayat had nowhere to go and rolled over Lenz. Lenz died three hours later in the hospital a blunt trauma to the head.

Personal

Lenz and his father were friends with Colin Edwards. Edwards said in an interview that he had lost his best friend and the world one of the biggest talents in motorcycle racing.
