Peter Martyr Vermigli

Peter Martyr Vermigli, actually Pietro Mariano Vermigli ( born September 8, 1499 Florence, † November 12, 1562 in Zurich ) was a Reformed theologian.

1516, he entered the monastery of the Augustinian Canons regulated one, propagated since 1541 in Naples and Lucca reformatory ideas, fled to Switzerland in 1542 and was then in Strasbourg professor of Old Testament. In 1547 he became a teacher in Oxford, fled in 1553 but before Mary Tudor back to Strasbourg and settled in 1556 in Zurich down.

From his writings are the Loci communes theologici highlight to Old and New Testament books except comments.
