Peter Matz

Peter Matz ( born November 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, † 9 August 2002 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American composer, arranger and orchestral conductor.

Life and work

As composer Peter Matz worked mainly for television movies, specials and series. Even with several notable artists he worked together with about Liza Minnelli that under his leadership in 1964 her first solo LP Liza! Liza! grossed at Capitol Records; He also was responsible for the music of the film Stepping Out, in which she played the lead role. Likewise, Peter Matz was also the composer of the musical Funny Lady with Barbra Streisand and the controversial "porn musical" Alice in Wonderland with Kristine DeBell in the lead role.
