Peter Mitterer

Peter Mitterer ( born November 23, 1946 in Villach, † October 25, 2013 ) was an Austrian innkeeper and politician ( FPK, formerly FPÖ or AAF ). Mitterer was a member of the Carinthian parliament, the Nationalrat and had from July to December 2005 and from January to June 2010 as president presided over the Austrian Bundesrat.

Education and work

Mitterer attended by the elementary and secondary school initially an agricultural vocational school and learned following the profession of a waiter. He did military service from 1966 and was employed from 1966 to 1980 in the family business as a waiter. Mitterer put 1980, the concession exam and worked as an independent restaurateur since 1981. Him the honorary title Kommerzialrat was awarded in 2001.

Policy

Mitterer was 1973-1991 Member of the Municipal Council meetings, where he was vice mayor from 1979 to 1985 and from 1985 to 1991 a member of the municipal council. Mitterer was of the FPÖ in 1989 and 1992 and 2005 in the Carinthian parliament. Between 1992 and 1994 he was runner- President, between 2000 and 2004 Third President of the Landtag. In between, he was on 5 November 1990 to 27 May 1992, Member of Parliament, from 29 June 2005, he represented the FPÖ in the Bundesrat. Mitterer moved in April 2005 (until 2009) to the AAF and was from July 1, 2005 to 31 December 2005 in place of Siegfried Kampl President of the Bundesrat. After the Alliance for the Future Parliamentary Club was heavily shrunk after the 2006 national elections, Mitterer also took over the role of the range speaker for the national minorities and displaced persons by 2008. On 16 December 2009 the Carinthian BZÖ and the 17 Members of Parliament, three National Councils and the two Federal Councils of Federal - AAF split off and left as FPK cooperation with the FPÖ one.

Within the party Mitterer 1990 member of the State Party Executive Committee. After fifteen years he put 2007, the function of the liberal district party chairman back. He was since 1995 also Kammerrat the Carinthian Chamber of Commerce and the Federal Economic Chamber. Mitterer joined in 2006 the successor of Albert Gunzer as Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Carinthia.
