Peter Noone

Peter Noone ([' pi ː tə ' nu ː n]; born November 5, 1947 in Manchester, England; actually Peter Blair Denis Bernard Noone ) is a British pop singer, actor and television presenter. In the 1960s, Noone was as Herman lead singer, pianist, guitarist and saxophonist of the beat band Herman's Hermits.

Life

Noone has played as a child star in the British television soap opera Coronation Street and had guest roles in other series. He studied in Manchester acting and singing. 1963 concluded the 15 -year-old, the band The Heartbeats, which discovered by Mickie Most and as Herman's Hermits one of the most successful bands of the British Invasion was. After the separation of the Hermits Noone launched in 1971 under his real name on a solo career and had with David Bowie's song Oh, You Pretty Thing, on which Bowie himself played the piano, a hit: Noones single reached number twelve on the British charts. Bowie released the song later in his own version as Oh! You Pretty Things on the album Hunky Dory.

Noone settled in France in 1973 and came with some performances back to Herman 's Hermits. In the late 1970s he attempted a comeback with the band The Tremblers in the USA. In 1982 he released a solo album titled One of the Glory Boys. At the same time he appeared on Broadway as Frederic in the lead role of the musical The Pirates of Penzance on which he also played in London's Drury Lane Theatre and touring theater groups later. Other stage and television roles followed. For four years he was a presenter on the oldies show My Generation on VH1. For several years, Peter Noone is also regularly again with Herman 's Hermits on Tour.
