Peter P. Klassen

Peter P. classes (* 1926 in the colony Chortitza on the Dnieper ) is a German or russlandmennonitischer teacher, historian and writer in Paraguay.

Life and work

As a child, Peter P. classes fled with his parents from southern Russia via Moscow to Paraguay. Since 1931 he lives and works there in the russlandmennonitischen colony Fernheim. Classes is recognized in historian circles as a specialist of the Mennonite history of Latin America and was editor of the Mennonite - Paraguayan magazine Mennoblatt. Known among the Mennonites and Mennonite Plautdietsch Russia classes was historically founded by his short stories in the series of stories on the history.

Peter P. classes wrote primarily in German and occasionally in Spanish and in his native language Plautdietsch. Before classes participated in a study tour of Plautdietsch friends, he collected and published in editions of the Mennoblattes proverbs and sayings in his native language. In this language, he wrote his book Woman fates. It is, inter alia, a narrative about his mother.
