Peter Runggaldier

Peter Runggaldier ( born December 29, 1968 in Brixen ) is a former alpine skier from South Tyrol (Italy). He was in the 1990s in the disciplines of downhill and super -G one of the best ski racer in international comparison.

Runggaldier won two World Cup races in the Super- G and reached over ten podiums, including on the ski slopes in Kitzbuhel ( grazing ), St. Anton, Wengen ( Lauberhorn ) and Garmisch- Partenkirchen (Kandahar ). His greatest successes were a silver medal in the downhill at the World Ski Championships 1991 in Saalbach -Hinterglemm ( behind Franz Heinzer ) and the first rank in the Super- G World Cup 1994 / 95th In 1991 and 1997 he was Italian champion in the super -G.

In March 2000 Runggaldier stepped back from professional sports. He lives in Selva di Val Gardena.
