Peter Sutherland

Peter Denis Sutherland ( born April 25, 1946) is an Irish politician and served as European Commissioner from 1985 to 1989.

From 1981 to 1982, from 1982 to 1984 was Sutherland Attorney General ( Attorney General ) of Ireland. Then he was in the Delors Commission I 1985-1986 Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and 1985-1989 Commissioner for Competition. From 1993 to 1995 Sutherland was finally the last GATT Director-General and first Director General of the World Trade Organization. Sutherland has since worked in various positions for the United Nations and is also also a member of the Bilderberg Conference, the Trilateral Commission and the European Round Table. In addition, Sutherland since 2006 consultant to the administration of goods of the Apostolic See.

Since 1995, Sutherland is responsible for the investment bank Goldman Sachs International in the chair.
