Peter Tork
Peter Tork (actually: Peter Halsten Thorkelson; born February 13, 1942 in Washington, DC) is an American musician and actor, best known as the bassist of the pop group The Monkees. He also plays guitar, banjo and keyboard.
He began as a folk singer and had like Michael Nesmith experience as a musician, while the other two band members Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones trained actors were. Studio musicians took part in their music recordings. Around 1968 to be able to get out of the record deal, Tork made a severance payment in the amount of $ 160,000. He then formed his own band, The Monks, who was unsuccessful, however. Ultimately, he returned but back to the Monkees.
