Peter W. Barca

William Peter Barca ( born August 7, 1955 in Kenosha, Wisconsin) is an American politician. Between 1993 and 1995 he represented the state of Wisconsin in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Peter Barca attended after high school until 1982, the University of Wisconsin. After that, he was still enrolled at Harvard University. He then worked as a teacher for handicapped children. Politically, Barca joined the Democratic Party. Between 1985 and 1993 he sat as an MP in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Following the resignation of Congressman Les Aspin, who had been appointed Secretary of Defense, Barca was in the due election for the first seat of Wisconsin as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on May 4, 1993. Since he Republican Mark Neumann defeated in the regular congressional elections of 1994, he could only finish the opened term in Congress until January 3, 1995.

After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives Barca worked in the Midwest for the Small Business Administration. Between 2002 and 2008 he worked for the consulting firm Aurora Associates International. Since 2009, he is again a deputy in the State Parliament of Wisconsin.
