Peter White (musician)

Peter White ( born September 20, 1954 in Luton, England ) is a smooth jazz and jazz fusion guitarist. He also plays the accordion and piano. His brother Danny White was one of the founders of the band Matt Bianco. White's style is characterized mainly by the exclusive use of the classical guitar with nylon sides. White thus builds on the style of Earl Klugh and cooperates on studio recordings and tours with many smooth jazz musicians such as Rick Braun Kirk Whalum or.

Career

Born in Luton Peter White scored the first success in the company of Al Stewart. During his 20 - year stint with Stewart, he composed many songs in order, in particular Stewart's Top - 10 hit Time Passages. In the late 80s he accompanied Basia on several successful albums.

Peter White took from 1990 first solo albums. His instrumentals What Does It Take ( To Win Your Love ), Jr. Walker & recorded by The All Stars (2006), Mister Magic, recorded by Grover Washington, Jr. (2007) and Bright ( 2009) all reached # 1 on the Billboard Jazz song Charts.

Peter White won the award for the best smooth jazz musicians at the 2007 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. He was named the best guitarist in the National Smooth Jazz Awards for four consecutive years ( 2000-2003).
