Geography
The municipality Petersberg extends from the Saale north of Halle ( Saale) about the striking Petersberg to Fuhneaue.

On the unity community Petersberg consists of the villages:
History
Until the formation of the unified community Petersberg on 1 January 2010 there was a small municipality Petersberg 685 inhabitants ( 2008), who was a member of the administrative community Götschetal - Petersberg. The administrative community broke up its mandate on 1 January 2010.
Incorporations
Incorporations on the territory of the present municipality Petersberg took place in the years 1950, 2005, 2006 and 2010.
Policy
Mayor
The first mayor of the unified community was elected on 25 April 2010. In the first round Ulli Leipnitz won an absolute majority.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms was designed by Jörg Kommunalheraldiker Mantzsch and approved March 4, 2011 by the county.
Blazon: "In eleven silver stars sprinkled blue shield a golden -considered and bekreuztes silver nave with black bow windows on curved golden sign foot, this is a red armored, three-toed, rising black lion with knocked-out tongue. "
Following on from the name of the new community leads the coat of arms as symbols, the ship of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter on a curved sign foot (Mountain), which is occupied with the coat of arms of Wettin, the rising black lion. The 11 stars in the shield symbolize to member municipalities.
The colors of the municipality are: white - blue.

The flag is blue -white-blue ( 1:4:1 ) striped ( cross- shape: strips horizontally extending, longitudinal shape: strips running vertically ) and centrally occupied with the municipal coat of arms.
