Petersdorf II until the end of 2014 a municipality with 873 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. As part of the municipality of structural reform in Styria it is merged in 2015 with the ( in the district of Graz-Umgebung lying ) communities Sankt Marein bei Graz and Krumegg, the new community will be known as the market town of Sankt Marein bei Graz. This is based on the Styrian community structure reform law - StGsrG. The boundaries of the districts of Graz-Umgebung and Südoststeiermark be up to the effective date of the merger changed so that the new church will lie entirely in the district of Graz-Umgebung.

Name

Because there are some in the community Fehring in the same region a Petersdorf, these same communities, both of which had no additive were numbered to have uniqueness in the land register. A similar approach is also found in the cadastral Lödersdorf and takers, but are both in the same community.

Geographical Location

Petersdorf II is located about 22 km east of Graz, about 15 km west of the district capital field creek in East Styrian Hill Country.

Policy

As part of the municipality of structural reform 2010-2015 was adopted on 21 January 2013 by Governor Franz Voves ( SPÖ) and State Deputy Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer (ÖVP ) announced a merger of the municipal Petersdorf II with the neighboring community St.Marein / Graz and an associated district change. In subsequent pimples Bacher negotiations between representatives of the state government and the two communities the withdrawal of the merger announcement, as well as a package of measures to rescue the financial community St.Marein / Graz was decided. This package includes, among other things, the outsourcing of financial sovereignty to the neighboring community Petersdorf II

Parish council

The council consists of nine members and is since the municipal elections 2010 mandates the following parties together:

  • 7 ÖVP - provides the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor
  • Two SPÖ - represents the Treasurer

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 October 2000.
