Petr Rosol

Petr Rosol ( born June 20, 1964 in Znojmo, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player and current coach.

Career

Petr Rosol was born in Znojmo, but grew up in Ústí nad Labem. He went through all the junior teams of the local ice hockey club Slovan Ústí nad Labem, and made his debut during the 1980/81 season for the men's team of the club in the first ČNHL, the then second division. At the age of 16, he moved to CHZ Litvinov, for the seniors team he from 1981 to 1983, was initially active in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league. Then he had to complete his military service and played from 1983 to 1985 for the Army Sports Club Dukla Jihlava ASD. With Dukla Jihlava he won the Czechoslovak league titles in seasons 1983/84 and 1984/85. From 1985 to 1991, the winger played again for Litvinov in the first league, where he was in the 1989/90 season best assist provider of the highest Czechoslovak league. The season 1990/91 he completed in parallel with the game Operation with Litvinov in the Italian Serie A1 at SHC Fassa. When SHC Fassa, he also started the following season, before joining for the playoffs for the HC Sierre in the Swiss National League B.

The 1992/93 season Rosol spent mostly at the HC Lugano of the Swiss National League A. For he scored in 24 games 20 scorer points, including five goals. He then returned for six games for his hometown club from Litvinov in Czechoslovakia. From 1993 to 1999, the Czech played continuously for the NLB participants HC Martigny. From 1999 to 2001, he went to the HC Litvinov from the newly established by division of Czechoslovakia Czech Extraliga. In the 2001 /02 season, he was standing by the EHC Visp in the National League B under contract, completed for the team but only two games in which he scored a goal and three assists. Last played the two -time Olympian in Germany in the 2002/03 season for the ESC Saale -Devil in fourth-class hockey Regional as well as in the 2003/04 season for the Rostock EC in the third-class ice hockey league, before he short his playing career before his 40th birthday ended.

As a coach

In the winter of 2005, he was assistant coach Vladimír Jeřábek at his hometown club HC Litvinov, but received no contract for the following season. As a result, he was employed as a youth coach at the club. Two years later, on the 41st matchday of the 2006/07 season, Rosol was again assistant coach at HC Litvinov, this time under head coach Jaroslav Huebl senior. This coaching duo remained until the end of the 2008/09 season in office. Then Rosol supervised for three years as head coach of the HC Slovan Ustecti Lvi from the Czech second division. With the team he was second division champions in the 2010/11 season, but missed in the Extraliga relegation the rise. In summer 2012, he returned as coach for HC Litvinov back in the Extraliga.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Rosol took part in the junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1982 and the U20 World Youth Championship in 1984. In the U18 European Championship in 1982, he won the silver at the 1984 U20 World Cup bronze medal with his team. He was also able to convince himself and was elected in both tournaments in the All-Star team. In the U18 European Championship in 1982, he was also top scorer.

In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1991 and 1992. Moreover, he stood in the line-up of Czechoslovakia at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 and 1992 in Albertville and in 1987 at the Canada Cup. In the 1985 World Cup he won with Czechoslovakia, the gold in the world championships in 1987 and 1992, the bronze medal. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1992 he won the bronze medal with his team also.

For the Czech Republic, he took part in the 1993 World Championships, where he won the bronze medal with his team.
