Petra Zindler

Petra Zindler ( born February 11, 1966 in Cologne ) is a German former swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany. She won an Olympic bronze medal in 1984.

Petra Zindler started for the SV Rhenaniastraße Cologne and coached at Gerhard Hetz and Elmar Schneider. 1981 and 1982 she won the title at the German Championships 200m breaststroke and the title on both capable of stretching, the two position title they won to 1985 five times in a row. In addition, she won the title in 1983 and 1985 about 200 meters butterfly and 1985 the title over 200 meters freestyle.

At the European Championships in Split 1981 she won both the 200 meters butterfly and over 400 meters individual medley in fourth place; 200m individual medley, she was seventh. In the World Swimming Championships in 1982 in Guayaquil they both reached the final location, about 200 meters, she was eighth, about 400 meters Sixth. 1983 at the European Championships in Rome, she was third on 400 meters individual medley, 200m individual medley and Sixth Seventh 200m butterfly. With the 4x200 -meter freestyle relay, she won silver.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles was Zindler Seventh 200m individual medley and bronze was over 400 meters individual medley. In 1985, she went on to win a bronze medal when she was at the European Championships in Sofia third parties over 200 meters butterfly.
