Petrashevsky Circle

Petraschewzen were followers of the circle in the Tsarist Russia Petrashevsky. This circle was the mid-forties of the 19th century in St. Petersburg. He belonged to progressive Russian intellectuals like the poet Fyodor Dostoevsky. The head of the circle was Mikhail Vasilyevich Butaschewitsch - Petrashevsky, a supporter of the French utopian socialist Charles Fourier. The political views of Petraschewzen were not identical, but the majority occurred against the Tsarist despotism and serfdom.
