Petri Kotwica

Petri Kotwica (* 1964 in Parga ) is a Finnish film director and screenwriter.

Kotwica studied from 1992 to 1998 Philosophy and Literature at the University of Helsinki. After that, a film he studied at the Academy of Art and Design Helsinki. After several short films he produced in 2005 with Koti - ikävä ( " homesickness " ) his first feature film. The youth drama tells the story of a seventeen- year-old who is placed in an adolescent after a suicide attempt.

In his next film Musta jää ( " Black Ice ", 2007) looking for a woman her husband's mistress to, get to know them closer. The film was awarded the Jussi awarded in six categories and was in competition at the Berlinale 2008.
