Petriano

Petriano ( in the local dialect Petriän ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2835 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region. The community is located about 20 kilometers south-west of Pesaro and about 10 kilometers northeast of Urbino and is part of the Comunità montana Alto e Medio Metaurus.

History

The place name is derived from the name over the three rivers ( prae tres amnes ). However, the first recorded mention of the year 1096 not used this even if there are two other little river next to the Apso nearby.
