Petrik Sander (2013 )

Petrik Sander ( born November 17, 1960 in Quedlinburg ) is a German former football player and current football coach.

He was known primarily for his work at Energie Cottbus. Sander is married and has two children.

Club career

In the early years of his career he played his first DDR - Oberliga games at Energie Cottbus. However, the club's management wanted to allocate a scarce Apartments him only if he would marry his then girlfriend ( and now wife). But Sander wanted to determine the date of his wedding itself and therefore left the club. Back in his homeland, he played with the engine Quedlinburg in the district league. From 1987 to 1991 he played again at Energie Cottbus. His other stations as players were motor Nordhausen and ASG Vorwärts Cottbus South. In total, he completed 80 games (27 goals) in the GDR Oberliga and 87 inserts ( 43 goals) in the DDR -Liga.

Coaching career

His coaching career began Petrik Sander initially with the amateurs of FC Energie Cottbus before 1997 he was an assistant coach in the pros. On 23 November 2004 he finally took over the post of head coach at FC power after Eduard Geyer was on leave because of lack of success. He prevented, with only one goal difference, relegation to the Regionalliga. On 1 April 2005 exploded at play FC Erzgebirge Aue vs FC Energie Cottbus in the 86th minute ( Aue led 2-0 ) next Sander a rocket that was fired from a Cottbus fan outside the stadium. The game was close to demolition, but was then resumed after a break until the regular end. Sander has since held a hearing loss in the right ear.

On 27 January 2006 Petrik Sander extended his contract until 2008. In May 2006, he managed to Cottbus the promotion back to the 1st League and a year later he reached with three games left in the season with his team to relegation in the 1st Bundesliga. After only two out of a possible 18 points at the start of the 2007/ 08 and Table 18, the court dismissed Sanders was announced on 23 September 2007. In addition to the lack of sporting success also differences with President Ulrich Lepsch Sanders led to dismissal.

In November 2008, Sander took over as the head coach at third division VfR Aalen, which was located at the time on the 13th place in the table. He thus entered the successor to the health reasons resigned as coach Jurgen Kohler. After two defeats against direct competitors of VfR got four games left in the season the relegation zone. Then Sander presented together with the sports director Jürgen Kohler in his resignation.

On 27 December 2009, he became head coach of the second division club TuS Koblenz, he should keep in the 3rd league before the descent, but this did not succeed. Nevertheless Petrik Sander received a new contract with the TuS Koblenz to start rebuilding in Division 3 in attack. He signed a contract in May 2010 to the end of the season 2010/2011. Because of financial difficulties, the club 2010/2011 but withdrew after the end of the season back from the 3rd league. Sander then declared that he would not sign a new contract in Koblenz.

On November 7, 2011 in the 3rd league exploiting dividend in relegation danger FC Carl Zeiss Jena announced that Sander had been committed as the new coach. Sander received a force up to 30 June 2012 contract, which shall be extended in the case of class preserving for another year until June 2013. Despite the missed class conservation and the descent into the Regional Sander got a new one-year contract until June 2013 and is intended to establish the club in the top flight of the Regional. End of May 2013, his contract was extended for another year until the summer of 2014, however, he was relieved from that back in August 2013 and released from their duties.
