Flammenbrustschnäpper ( Petroica phoenicea )

The catch ( Petroicidae, not to be confused with the flycatchers, Muscicapidae ) are a diverse family in the order of perching birds ( Passeriformes ). In this family, there are 13 genera ( some zoologists also 15 genera in this family) and about 40 species. The systematic position of the snap is still unclear.

Widespread they are primarily in Australasia and inhabit forests and areas bewaldene. Most species have a short tail, a big round head in proportion to body and rounded wings. They feed mostly on insects in addition to seeds. Their cup-shaped nests they lay on forked sticks in trees or bushes.
