Petrus Canisius van Lierde
Jean van Lierde Peter Canisius, OSA, Peter Canisius Johannes van Lierde ( born April 22, 1907 in Hasselt, Belgium, † March 12, 1995 in Roeselare ) was a Belgian priest.
Life
Lierde received the Order of St. Augustine on May 30, 1931, the ordination. He then received his doctorate in theology and philosophy. Pope Pius XII. appointed him on 31 January 1951, Titular Bishop of Porphyreon and Giuseppe Pizzardo He received his episcopal consecration on 25 February of the same year; Co-consecrators were the titular Luigi Traglia and Felice Addeo Agostino. Lierde worked until 1991 as Vicar General of His Holiness for Vatican City.
