Pétrus Ky

Pétrus Jean Baptiste Trương Vinh Ky ( born December 6, 1837 in Vinh Long, Vietnam, † September 1, 1898 in Saigon, Vietnam ) was a Vietnamese writer, scientist, journalist and translator. He wrote over 100 works in geography, history, literature, wrote several dictionaries, including the first French - Vietnamese dictionaries, translated many books of the ancient Vietnamese font chu nom NGU in today's writing Vietnamese Quốc. For his work he was honored by the French Academy and other bodies and highly awarded ( Officer D' Académie, the Légion d' Honneur, etc.).
